Biography

She graduated from the Ceramics Program Associate Degree at Trakya University in 1994. She completed her Master's Degree in 2000 at the Sculpture Department of Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, and in 2003 at the Sculpture ASD of the same faculty with her thesis titled "The Effects of Women Artists on Contemporary Turkish Art". She was awarded the "Young Art Critic Award" with her article titled "Kuzgun Acar" within the scope of Contemporary Istanbul in 2004. She was awarded the Baki Komsuoğlu Art Award in 2011. In 2017, she graduated from the Plastic Arts Department of Kocaeli University, Institute of Social Sciences, with her thesis titled "The Middle East as an Image in Contemporary Art" and earned her Doctorate degree. The artist, who received the title of Associate Professor in 2021, has been working at the Sculpture Department of Kocaeli University since 2005. Arzu Parten held her solo exhibitions "Guest" at the Çanakkale State Art Gallery and "Lalettayin" in İzmit in 2018. Arzu Parten, who held her exhibition titled More than Rose in Dimitorovgrad State Gallery in 2019, opened another solo exhibition in Plovdiv, the 2019 Capital of Culture, as an “Invited Artist”. Parten, who exhibited her last solo exhibition titled “This Place” in 2022, has participated in many group exhibitions.
