Biography
Ayşe Şeyma TURGUT ARIKAN graduated as the top student from the Department of Social Work at Başkent University in 2015. She completed her master’s degree in Social Work at Hacettepe University in 2018 and earned her doctorate in the Poverty Studies Program at Kocaeli University, Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, in 2023. Since 2017, she has been working as a research assistant in the Department of Social Work at Kocaeli University. As of 2025, she is a postdoctoral fellow at the Faculty of Human Sciences at Kassel University. Her postdoctoral research is supported by the TÜBİTAK 2219 program. Her research interests include unemployment, poverty,health promotion and institutional care.
