Examination of the Science Course Curriculum of the Year 2018 in Terms of Including Lesson Outcomes Regarding Responsibility

Özet

The concept of responsibility is defined as acting with an awareness of the decisions individuals take and the tasks they undertake, and accepting the responsibility of the consequences that will arise in this process. It is thought that in science education, lesson outcomes regarding responsibility have an important role to raise individuals with responsibility. For this purpose, the science course curriculum of 2018 was examined within the scope of lesson outcomes regarding responsibility. The concept of responsibility is addressed in this study in the dimensions of individual responsibility, social responsibility and corporate social responsibility. The study is a qualitative research and document analysis method has been adopted for obtaining the data. The data source of the examination is the science course curriculum of the year 2018, which was approved by the Board of Education. The content analysis method has been adopted while analyzing the data. As a result of the study, 65 lesson outcomes regarding responsibility were found. It is seen that the found lesson outcomes constitue the 21,31% of the total (305) lesson outcomes in the curriculum. When the distributions of these lesson outcomes according to the grades are examined, it is determined that the outcomes are included the most at the 8th grade level and the least at the 5th grade level. When the distribution of these lesson outcomes according to the subject areas are examined, it is determined that the subject area that includes the most outcomes is the Living and Life, and the least number of lesson outcomes are included in the subject area of the Earth and the Universe.
