Özet

In this study, 5083 and 5086 aluminium alloy plates were welded using TIG, MIG and FS welding processes in industrial and laboratuvary conditions in order to investigate mechanical and microstructural properties respectively. Tensile and bend tests were applied to specimens taken from each welded plates. Fracture surfaces were also examined using light optical microscopy (LOM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). As a metallurgical investigation, optic microscopy and Image Analysis System were used for TIG, MIG and FS welded specimens weld zones. Measurements of hardness were carried out using the Vickers method with 200g test load on metallografic specimens taken from each welded joint. As a result, it has been observed that friction stir welded joints have so good mechanical properties and metallurgical properties as/ than TIG and/or MIG welded joints.
