Milimetre-Wave, Electromagnetics and Security Technologies Laboratuary
The Millimeter Wave, Electromagnetic and Security Technologies Research Laboratory MILTECH, which was established in 2015 under the leadership of Prof. Dr. A. Oral Salman, is located in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Kocaeli University. Its research area is in the field of electromagnetic and microwave technologies including microwave and millimeter wave antennas and impedance matching, passive microwave structures such as microwave filters, waveguides, couplers, resonators, active structures such as microwave amplifiers, radar absorber materials (RAM), electromagnetic characterization of materials (electric and magnetic permeabilities), EMI. There are other electromagnetic structures such as (electromagnetic interference) and shielding (shielding), electromagnetic anhecoic chamber design, biological effects of RF and microwaves, passive millimeter wave imaging, RF coil design, FSY (frequency selective surfaces). As laboratory infrastructure, a 3 m anhecoic chamber where measurements of antenna parameters such as RKA and SAR can be made in the range of 900 MHz - 20 GHz, antennas operating at various frequencies, waveguides and R-band rectangular resonators, rework soldering iron set and soldering fume absorber, handheld type avometer and LCR meter, RFR and ELF electric and magnetic field meter, ultrasonic distance meter, SMA and 2.4 mm connectors and coaxial cables. MİLTECH Laboratory is open to collaborations to conduct scientific and technological research on applied electromagnetics in the microwave and millimeter wave region, as well as to produce various projects as well as measuremnets in fields such as communications and defense sectors. In addition, our laboratory is ready to provide consultancy to various private sector industrial and technology companies.
