International Joint Laboratory on
Low-Carbon and New-Energy Nexus Research and Development, established in 2022
within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Kocaeli University, operates
in various engineering disciplines including fluid mechanics and heat transfer,
focusing primarily on thermal energy storage techniques and applications, energy
efficiency in buildings, heating and cooling applications in buildings,
nano-fluid technologies, and cooling of heat transfer and electronic components
and electric motors. The laboratory consists of a total of five researchers
including Prof. Dr. Müslüm ARICI, Prof. Dr. Hasan KARABAY, Res. Asst. Çağatay
YILDIZ, Res. Asst. Ekrem TUNÇBİLEK, and Res. Asst. Murat Can ÖNEN. The
researchers in the laboratory have numerous academic articles published in
journals listed in the Science Citation Index under Q1 and Q2 quarters, as well
as various academic and industry collaboration projects involving numerical and
experimental research.
The research group conducts
numerical studies using computer programming tools and CFD software such as
FORTRAN, EnergyPlus, MATLAB, and ANSYS Fluent. In this context, two Dell
Precision 7895 workstations are also available within the laboratory.
