This paper first discusses the need for integrating several performance measures in an index to give an overall measure of the manufacturing performance. It also points out the importance of an adjustment mechanism that aligns the overall performance index with the corporate strategy in a volatile environment. A methodology is also presented that utilizes the strategic performance modeling and measurement index and the analytical hierarchy process to model and to measure the manufacturing performance of a company in a dynamic manner.
