Özet:

İntroduction and aim:Pigmented purpuric dermatosis are a group of dermatoses characterized by brown or yellow petechia, purpura and sometimes telangiectasia. The etiology of pigmented purpuric dermatosis is unclear. Recently, contact sensitivity is thought to play a role in the etiology of the disease. The lesions begin at the lower extremity in most patients and are usually limited to this region. This area is a region where textile products are in tight contact with the skin. Also, textile dyes can cause purpuric type contact dermatitis. For this reason, it was thought that contact sensitivity to textile products may play a role in the etiology of pigmented purpuric dermatosis and our work is planned because of this thought.

Materials and methods: Patients who were diagnosed with pigmented purpuric dermatosis were included to our work. A set of 33 allergenic textiles series (Chemotechnique Diagnostics TF-1000), containing textile dyes, textiles materials and protectors was sticked to back of all patients whoes had taken to work byIQ ultra chamber.Test sites were evaluated at 48, 72, 96. hours and 7 days according to the criteria of the International Contakt Dermatit Research Group. The evaluation results were recorded in patient files. The results were evaluated statistically.

Results:Thirty patients (18 (%60) male and 12 (%40) female) whose were diagnosed pigmented purpuric dermatosis included in the study. The average age of the study group was 54.6 ± 15.8 years. The location of lesions of all patients in the study group; lower extremities were in 22 (%73.3) patients, lower extremities and trunk  in 5 (%16.7) patients, and upper and lower extremities in 3 (%10) patients. Schamberg disease was found in 23 patients (%76.7), lichen aureus in 5 patients (%16.7) and Majocchi disease in 2 patients (%6.7) of 30 patients in all. The mean duration of lesions was 43.1 ± 67.4 months in all patients. No contact sensitivity was detected in any of 30 patients with PPD in work.

Conclusıon:In our study, none of the patients with pigmented purpuric dermatosis had any contact sensitivity to textile products.
