Abstract

The earthquake response of the Aya Sofya is analyzed on the basis of the strong motion data recorded by the accelerometer network installed on the structure. The modal vibration frequencies and the mode shapes obtained through the use of empirical transfer functions are compared to those based on the ambient vibration survey and the analytical finite element studies.
