Infertility means not being able to get pregnant despite having frequent, unprotected sex for twelve months. Today, one of every 6-7 married couples experience the infertility and seek medical help. Infertility has sociocultural and psychosocial impacts on couples such as social pressure, stigma, guilt, and social exclusion. Social workers may encounter infertility cases in institutions such as hospitals, IVF units, society centers, psychiatry clinics and family counselling centers. The study is based on literature review. The study aims to reveal the importance of social work practices and interventions in infertility field.
