Abstract

In this study, curing behaviours of 13 different rubber compounds that constitute a typical passenger tire were studied for a wide curing temperature range. A new model has been proposed as with a simple correction factor that was contributed into the traditional model. State of cure values for the rubber compounds at different curing temperatures were calculated according to both traditional and new models. It has been found that new model is more reliable to predict the cure patterns of rubber compounds that even have quite different curing characteristics, especially at high wiring temperatures.
