INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON ENERGY MANAGEMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY, İstanbul, Türkiye, 5 - 09 Nisan 2022, cilt.1, ss.106, (Özet Bildiri)
Five waste wood samples representing to wood processing wastes; pine wood and four chemically treated
waste wood; wooden window frame, wooden parquet and two different furniture made of MDF (f1 and f2,
produced for the production of office furniture from two different factories) were selected to determine
combustion characteristics. Pine tree samples (Pinus brutia) not treated any chemicals and additives were
obtained from the timber production center in Isparta. In addition, 2 different local lignites; Tuncbilek and
Soma lignites were also used to stand for Turkish local lignites. In this study, 21 raw lignite and raw
biomass samples were prepared and characterized by Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). The waste
wood samples were found to be more reactive than local lignites. Accordingly, in industrial applications,
the combustion performance of lignite can be enhanced in the thermochemical systems by adding of the
waste wood into lignite.
