Özet

Hydroboration of 3-hydroxy-3-methyl-Delta(4)-steroids, and oxidation of the borane with alkaline hydrogen peroxide, has been shown by X-ray crystallography to give 4beta-hydroxy-3alpha-methyl-5beta(H)-steroids irrespective of the stereochemistry at C-3.
