The fact that it becomes difficult to stay in the market with the change of competitive conditions directs businesses to use their systems more efficiently, to produce high quality products and to meet customer demands correctly. Businesses in the market with different competitive strategies can expand their market share over time. However, customer demands are beginning to change and show diversity in businesses whose market share is expanding. However, businesses need to develop and optimize their production systems in order to produce new products and fully meet customer demands. In order to develop their production systems, businesses first consider the current situation analysis in detail. Value stream mapping method is used in the current situation analysis and improvement of business processes. Businesses visualize and analyze their production processes by using the value stream mapping method in the current situation analysis. Plans are being made for the parts to be optimized or developed as a result of the current situation analysis. In this study, the current situation analysis of the system for the compatibility of processes and systems with the new product range in a business in the white goods sector is discussed in detail. With the current situation analysis, the capacity of the machinery/equipment used, the number of required workforce, product variety, value stream mapping (VSM), ergonomic working conditions, transportation and automation systems were examined. With the current situation analysis, it has been analyzed that there is no line design that can meet the required capacity and constraints for the production of the new product. In order to ensure the production of the new product on assembly lines, it is suggested that the existing assembly line be designed in a flexible structure suitable for the new product by using lean line design (LLD) and floworiented layout (FOL) methods.
