Özet

As an alternative to conventional polymers, biodegradable PLA is a natural aliphatic polyester that can be produced from renewable resources such as corn, starch, and sugar. PLA is a thermoplastic with high strength performance and modulus properties. As a thermoplastic polyester, PLA has gained increasing importance due to growing environmental concerns and the rising emphasis on sustainability. Calixarenes are members of supramolecular chemistry and are considered third-generation supramolecular compounds, possessing a wide range of properties. When appropriately functionalized, they can have unique application areas. In this study, calixarene synthesis was first carried out. Following its preparation, a functionalization step was performed using suitable functional groups. The structures were characterized using techniques such as FTIR, NMR, MS, DSC, and TGA. The study aimed to achieve quaternization using different tertiary amines. As a result of the reaction between tertiary amines and bromine, quaternary ammonium salt calixarenes were obtained. The calixarene synthesized in this study was then used to form a composite with PLA, and PLA films were produced. Their thermal properties were subsequently investigated using various methods.
