After new developments in the car industry, the car speeds have increased very quickly, and the skid resistance of the roads has become very important from the safety point of view. The main goal of this article is to predict the skid resistance coefficient of cement concrete road surfaces at any speed using the fuzzy logic approach. The definition of skid resistance is made in the beginning. Then, the effects of road surface characteristics, mainly macrotexture and microtexture properties, on the skid resistance behavior of cement concrete road surfaces are explained. After, the data collected from the microtexture of different cement concrete road pavements measured by image processing and the macrotexture of cement concrete road pavements measured by Laser Profilometer are used to analyze skid resistance behavior of all kinds of cement concrete roads. For prediction, the multiple linear regression analysis is applied first, and then the fuzzy logic is used for the prediction of the skid resistance coefficient of cement concrete road surfaces secondly. Finally, it was shown that the fuzzy logic model (FLM) more precisely predicts the skid resistance coefficient of cement concrete road surfaces better than multiple linear regression analysis. It is possible to emphasize that there is a strong relation between cement concrete road surface characteristics mainly macrotexture and microtexture and skid resistance coefficient. The skid resistance coefficient of cement concrete surfaces at any vehicle speed and safety level of road surface can be predicted using the FLM.
