Aging is a concept that varies depending on cultural, medical, and social factors. Aging can bring various challenges that affect the daily lives of elderly individuals. With the development of technology and the integration of smart space applications, an approach called g'erontechnology' is being used to facilitate the daily lives of elderly individuals. Gerontechnology is afield of technology focused on the desires and needs of aging individuals, aiming to enhance vitality and quality of life throughout the lifespan. Today, thanks to smart homes, a tool of gerontechnology, it has become possible to organize the living spaces and lives of elderly individuals and to achieve the phenomenon of "Aging in Place." This study focuses on how the combination of the gerontechnological approach with smart home design can make the living spaces of elderly individuals more comfortable. Within the scope of the study, examples from countries such as the Netherlands, Spain, Ireland, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and the United States were examined based on literature research, and findings and results were presented. The study aims to emphasize the importance of using and developing smart systems in living spaces designed for the elderly through an interdisand to serve as a written source research in this area.
