Abstract

Resonators are commonly used in the measurements of electromagnetic parameters. One of the applications is the phase velocity measurement of electromagnetic wave. In thus article, a sinusoidal wire resonator is experimentally investigated for measuring phase velocity of surface wave supported by a Goubou-line. The phase velocity values are obtained and the results are also compared with another technique (near-field propping). It is shown that a sinusoidal wire resonator is a promising tool to measure the phase velocity. (C) 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
