Özet

Management of municipal solid waste is a great deal of business for municipalities. In this study, co-digestion of organic fraction of municipal solid waste and landfill leachate is investigated. A two-staged and a total volume of 5m(3) digester system is used. Operating temperature is 37 degrees C (+/- 1 degrees C) in both digesters. 200 kg/day municipal solid organic waste and landfill leachate is fed to the first digester with a 10% dry matter content for 70 day. The hydraulic retention time is 25 days and the experiment is conducted for 70 days. 610 lt CH4/kgVS methane is produced and the concentration of the methane in the biogas is 68%.
