Abstract

An image sequence stabilisation system based on Kalman filtering of absolute frame displacements is reported. The stabiliser compensates for undesired fluctuations in the sequence by shifting image frames into smoothed positions obtained through the Kalman filter. The stabiliser operates in real-time, removing jitter while preserving desired gross camera displacements.
