Özet

Datura stramonium, is a member of the belladonna alkoloid family and used as a pain killer and in the treatment of asthma by people in the country. However, Datura stramonium may cause intoxication due to it's high anticholinergic content. Manifestations of Datura stramonium intoxication include dry mocous membranes, blurred vision, photophobia, hyperthermia, confusion, agitation, urinary retension, seizures and coma. Treatment consist of supportive care, gastrointestinal decontamination, and physostigmine in severe cases.
