Özet

The inhibition effects of 4-phenyl-3-thiosemicarbazide (PT) on the corrosion of aluminum in 0.1 M hydrochloride acid (HCl) solution at 298 K to 343 K using potentiodynamic polarization have been investigated. The adsorption of the inhibitor on the aluminum surface was found to comply with the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The effect of temperature on aluminum in 0.1 M HCl with and without inhibitor was analyzed, and the activation energy was determined. A theoretical study of the corrosion inhibition efficiency of both PT and protonated PT was carried out using density functional theory (DFT).
