The utilities of the electrical insulation of silver tape for magnet applications have been investigated. Two types of ZrO(2-)8 wt% MgO Solutions, which are sol-gel and sol-gel composite solution, were used to coat the silver tapes by continuous dip coating method. The ceramic coatings were characterized by SEM and XRD analysis. The thicker ceramic insulation layers were obtained with less dip number by the use of sol-gel composite method.
