Özet

beta -Dicarbonyl compounds were easily oxidised with manganese (III) acetate in acetic acid, to form the corresponding alpha -carboradicals, which attacked alkenes at reflux temperature to give new 5-carbamoyl-dihydrofurans in good yield.
