Background: In cleft palate repair, anatomically oriented, tension free, atraumatic total closure is the key to achieve a normal speech consecutive to a sufficient velopharyngeal closure and also to prevent postoperative fistula development. In this clinical study, we review our experience with acellular dermal matrix (ADM) which was used as an adjunct to facilitate difficult cleft palate and palatal fistula closure.
