An efficient adaptive search range determination approach for constrained one-bit transform based block motion estimation is presented in this paper. This approach employs only one-bit images of previous and current frame to decide the search range for each block. Additional computational cost originated by the search range determination approach can be neglected because a computationally light and linear search range determination model is utilized. Experimental results show that the constrained one-bit transform based motion estimation method can be speeded-up up to 90% without any important performance loss in motion estimation accuracy(1).
