Abstract

In this study, it was tried to obtain dimples on polyamide plates. With the CO2 laser, laser beams with

300 μm diameter and different powers from 25 W to 75 W were sent on the material. The resulting

dimples and the Heat Affected Zone formed around the dimples were examined with an optical

microscope. As a result of the measurements made on the optical microscope images, the dimple

width, and depth were measured. Optimum laser parameters were calculated to obtain dimples that

have a maximum aspect ratio
