Özet

Team work requires cooperation amongst the team members based on complementarity. Within this cooperation, members may take different roles. There is not enough study related to the roles of team members and the antecedents of these roles in literature. The purpose of this study is to examine relationship between emotional intelligence and team members' roles. Population of this study is composed of public institutions employees located in Ankara who at least take a part in one teamwork. In order to test the relationships between emotional intelligence and team members' roles, data collected from 80 mid-managers or experts, is submitted to statistical analyses. The findings reveal that there are positive and significant relationships between emotional intelligence and (i) resource-investigator, (ii) team worker, (iii) plant, (iv) co-coordinator, (v) completer-finisher, (vi) implementer, (vii) monitor-evaluator roles.
