The overuse of fossil fuels today leads to increased greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere, consequently causing climate change. The transportation sector is one of the main contributors to climate change, and the aviation industry plays a key role in this field. Due to growing environmental pressure, the aviation industry, which is supposed to be sustainable, is in an unsustainable state. With the increase in climate change, sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs) are promising as a solution. However, based on aviation authorities' research, it is clear that achieving the expected and desired targets is challenging. Therefore, this study aims to serve as a bridge between the industry, policymakers, and academia by providing a compilation of SAFs, a future projector, a resource mapping, and a realistic perspective that explores solutions
