Özet

AimThis study aimed to explore robotic surgical nurses' perceptions and experiences of artificial intelligence (AI) and to reveal their views on its impact on professional roles and care processes.MethodsA qualitative research design using thematic analysis was employed. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews with 13 robotic surgical nurses between September and December 2024. Data analysis was conducted in six steps using thematic analysis. The Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research (COREQ) guidelines were followed.ResultsFour main themes emerged from the analysis: (1) The effects of AI on robotic surgical nursing, (2) AI from the perspective of robotic surgical nurses, (3) The impact of AI on patients, and (4) The process of adapting to AI. Participants stated that AI could facilitate care processes and improve patient safety; however, they expressed concerns that it may not adequately address the subjective aspects of care, such as human touch and empathy.ConclusionsWhile robotic surgical nurses generally view AI positively as a supportive tool, they are concerned that the technology may overshadow professional roles and reduce the quality of human-centered care. Ongoing training and institutional support were emphasized as key to facilitating adaptation to AI.
