“Computer science for everyone!” with the rhetoric, coding and then computational thinking have become topics of interest in many countries in the world and in Turkey with an increasing momentum in recent years. Coding and computational thinking have begun to take place in the curricula of many countries. As of the 2018-19 academic year in Turkey, the Information Technologies and Software course curriculum at the primary school 1-4th grade was offered to the use of classroom teachers within the scope of free activity course with a content that includes coding and computational thinking. Classroom teachers are among those who show the most interest in coding teaching in Turkey. In this research a scoping study on computational thinking and coding issues was aimed for primary school teachers. According to the findings of the research; in addition to control regarding with the computational thinking and coding in the Information Technologies and Software course, primary school teachers have roles and responsibilities related to information technologies in all the courses they teach. It has been seen that the educational opportunities and teaching material resources for the teaching fields for the classroom teachers in coding and computational thinking are limited. In the national literature, it has been determined that there are very few studies on computational thinking and coding on primary school level or classroom teachers. In terms of primary school teachers, research suggestions are given to eliminate the uncertainties about computational thinking and coding.
