In this article, the relationships between Turkey and IMF is analyzed with regard to fiscal discipline in Turkey. The objective of this study is to discuss the financial discipline in terms of the economic and financial progress of Turkey since the beginning of the relationships between IMF and Turkey. A number of stand-by agreements have been made from tha date Turkey associated to IMF. Unfortunately, most of those have failed. IMF programs were applied more frequently after the year 1998 and thenceforth those agreements called as structural precautions or structural reforms were handled. In this context, we try to explain how much economical and financial policies carried out with the support of IMF provided the fiscal disipline in terms of period.
