Özet

Reliability is the probability of performing defined functions without failure in the specified environmental conditions in the defined time interval. Reliability is interested in how long any product or software works truly, without error. This concept is also very important for power electronic circuits, especially at the consumer electronics. When insufficient reliability analysis carried out, it can cause loss of time, money, dignity and life. So, it should be studied to improve reliability. This paper emphasizes importance of reliability for power electronic circuits, and presents required tests. As a case study, calculating of fuse melting point is discussed. The fuse is a very important and critical component for the protection of power electronic devices. There are several parameters for choosing. Inrush energy is considered as an important parameter. So, this paper also presents the calculation of the fuse melting point by inrush energy and determination of the eligibility to improve the reliability for led driver circuit. The testing set has been designed as case study.
