Abstract

The use of information systems in agriculture continues from the past to the present, that is, the transition from plow tillage to mechanized agriculture and today with the combination of precision agriculture practices and smart agriculture. With machine automation and machine learning, data collection and analysis, artificial intelligence and internet of things technologies, there is a change in precision agriculture and smart agriculture.Simulation and the use of different modeling programs are also included in this scope. With the use of information systems, the use of precision agriculture and smart agriculture can be made widespread and agricultural activities can be made uninterruptedly sustainable. The use of technologies that enable producers to do their work in a short time with efficiency and quality production in agriculture can only be realized by smart agriculture systems. With the use of digital change, data transmission and management, and information technologies in agriculture, it has emerged that there is a need for original hardware, software, management and applications in large-scale agriculture. In this study, the use of informatics methods in the effective use of water in agricultural production, correct and timely irrigation, determination of plant water consumption and smart irrigation management has been explained and discussed.
