Özet

Kişi profilleme, suçla mücadelede failin davranışsal ve psikolojik özelliklerini analiz ederek
soruşturmalara yön veren stratejik bir tekniktir. Bu çalışma, profillemenin tarihsel gelişimini,
teorik temellerini, uygulama yöntemlerini ve Türkiye'deki mevcut durumunu kapsamlı bir
biçimde ele almaktadır. Ayrıca, etik ve hukuki boyutları da derinlemesine incelenmiştir.
Özellikle seri suçlar, cinsel saldırılar ve organize suçlar gibi karmaşık vakalarda soruşturma
süreçlerini hızlandıran profilleme, adli psikoloji ve kriminolojinin disiplinlerarası bir sentezi
olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma, profillemenin tamamlayıcı bir araç olduğunu ve bilimsel
temellere dayalı, etik sınırlar içinde uygulanması gerektiğini vurgulamaktadır.

Criminal profiling is a strategic behavioral analysis technique used in criminal investigations to
infer psychological and demographic characteristics of unknown offenders. This study
comprehensively examines the historical development, theoretical foundations, procedural
stages, and ethical/legal dimensions of profiling, with a particular focus on its application in
Turkey. The paper highlights profiling as a valuable interdisciplinary synthesis of forensic
psychology and criminology that expedites investigations, especially in complex cases such as
serial crimes, sexual assaults, and organized crimes. It is concluded that profiling is a
supplementary tool that must be applied within a scientific and ethical framework.
