Özet

Abstract : The increasing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) has led to increased interest in the components required for their operation, such as DC-DC converters, battery chargers, motor drive systems, etc. Among these, battery chargers play an important role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of electric vehicles. Battery chargers include DC-DC converters known for their high efficiency, cost effectiveness and wide output voltage range. This research paper presents a systematic methodology for designing bidirectional DC-DC converters based on Capacitor-Inductor-Inductor-Inductor-Capacitor (CLLLC) resonant converter topology, specifically designed for battery chargers in EV applications. Thanks to the symmetrical structure of the circuit, bidirectional power flow control becomes less complicated. This converter also features soft switching which increases its efficiency. The design process emphasizes performing soft switching and determining resonance tank parameters. It also provides gain equations for both forward and reverse modes to ensure operation within the desired output voltage range. These design procedures were validated using a CLLLC BiDC model rated by LTspice.
