Abstract

The aim of this work is to improve conductivity of the feedstock produced from the 99.6% Al T-ingot, which is not used directly in production of aluminium conductor due to containing high transition elements V, V, and Cr. The experiments were made under real working conditions in CCL of the aluminium factory by using 5% AlB12 waffles, and 4% AlB12 and 3% AlB2 master compounds in rod form. After rolling of the continuo bar, microstructure analyses of samples taken from 9.5-mm feedstock have been examined using optical metallography, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy dispersive X ray (EDX) analysis.
