Özet

Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology has emerged as a leading solution for positioning applications due to its high temporal resolution and robustness against multipath effects. However, in Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) scenarios where the direct line of sight between the transmitter and receiver is obstructed, UWB systems suffer from increased measurement errors and unstable position estimates, significantly degrading overall performance. This study investigates a temporal filtering-based approach to mitigate NLOS effects and enhance positioning accuracy under such challenging conditions. Two experimental setups were designed for evaluation: one in a static environment and one in a dynamic environment. In both scenarios, UWB-based range measurements were collected and analyzed. A Kalman filter was applied to improve the measurement data, and a state model was developed to capture the system's dynamic characteristics. Experimental results demonstrate that the Kalman-based temporal filtering method significantly improves positioning performance in both static and dynamic scenarios. In particular, under conditions where NLOS effects are pronounced, improvements in localization accuracy of 11% in dynamic scenarios and 35% in static scenarios were observed after filtering. These findings indicate that temporal filtering can serve as an effective enhancement tool for UWB-based positioning systems.
