Abstract

Ultrasound imaging is a frequently preferred method due to its many advantages. In ultrasound images noise and unseen details reduce visualization. In this work a new approach for denoising image and enhance local details in ultrasound image is proposed. Bilateral filter which preserve edge changes after filtering is utilized to remove noise. After denoising, Rayleigh contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE) is applied to image for enhance local detail. The Rayleigh CLAHE which has non-uniform distribution function, prevent local noise and show local details without saturating high intensitiy areas. The enhanced ultrasound images with proposed method have better visualization then the original images.
