In this work an approach to detect the spatial location of sound sources has been developed and implemented using the Texas Instrument DaVinci processor. Because sound waved propagate spherically, sound leaving a certain source will come to different sound receivers at different time slots. The spatial location of a sound source can be determined using several sound receivers making use of this feature. In this work two microphones positioned ate different locations are used to capture sound signals, and the delay between the two signals is obtained using phase correlation. The angular direction of the sound source is determined according to the delay value. The system has been implemented on the TI DaVinci plalform and operates in real-time.
