Özet

Lightning impulses include very high frequency components, especially in the return stroke. For a proper lightning analysis of cables, it is important to make sure that the model adopted for cables is suitable for usage in high frequency region. Such a cable model should be able to calculate ground return impedances with high accuracy at high frequencies. Also this model should take displacement currents and ground admittance into consideration. Currently, there are no readily available cable models in EMT-type programs satisfying these three conditions. This paper describes implementation of a cable model in PSCAD-EMTDC, which satisfies these requirements. Some application examples are also provided in the paper to demonstrate the improvements achieved with this model.
