In optical communication systems, one of the important parameters to consider when analyzing the system is the probability of bit error. In this study, the BER analysis of the system is made by using the optical element modulator used in optical communication systems and the performance comparisons of the modulators are made. The most important limiting factor affecting the transmission speed and distance of fiber optic transmission systems is "dispersion". Dispersion is the propagation of the optical pulse along the transmission line. The higher the transmission speed and distance, the more the dispersion affects the performance of the system. In this study, fiber gratings, an optical element, have been proposed to compensate for dispersion. Spectral analysis, time delay and dispersion characteristics were analyzed by modeling fiber grids. From the results obtained, it was observed that the fiber grating would be a good method to compensate the dispersion.
