Petroleum and its derivatives, which are the main components of production and consumption activities, are among the most important sources subject to international trade. Changes in world oil prices, depending on supply and demand conditions, cause inflation, especially in oil importing countries. In this study, the inflationary effect of the oil price in the 20 most importing countries was analyzed. The annual data of the 1993-2017 period were analyzed by panel data and it was concluded that oil prices had a stimulating effect on inflation.
