It is well known that, anoxia produces acute neurologic deficit, but severe neurologic reactions may be delayed for days or weeks after anoxic exposure. Delayed neurologic sequelae are more characteristic of anoxic encephalopathy after carbon monoxide intoxication than of other types of anoxia. In the neurologic literature, this process following the other types of anoxia was reported very rare. We have described serial neuroradiological and clinical findings for a patient who experienced delayed neurological sequelae after cardiopulmonary arrest which was developed after (i.v.) methamizole injection.
