Özet
This chapter presents a comprehensive exploration of symbiotic radio, emphasizing its integration with sensing and backscatter communication within the context of ambient power-enabled Internet-of-Things (Ambient IoT) applications. It commences with an examination of the foundational principles of symbiotic radio and extends to the fundamental concepts of sensing and backscatter communication, highlighting their critical roles in promoting energy efficiency and sustainability. The discussion incorporates relevant 3GPP use cases, including sensor data collection, inventory management, command execution, and positioning. Various communication topologies, specifically monostatic and bistatic configurations, are analyzed, complemented by a practical example of sensing-assisted backscatter communication that localizes mobile targets to enhance data transmission efficacy. Furthermore, the chapter addresses signal and system design considerations for employing a unified signal for both sensing and backscatter communication. The concluding section outlines potential applications, use cases, challenges, and future research directions, thereby providing a holistic perspective on the advancements and implications of these technologies in the evolving landscape of Ambient IoT.
