Özet
In this study, the Improved Residual Power Series Method (IRPSM) is addressed for the solution of boundary and initial value problems encountered in the modeling of engineering problems. To verify the effectiveness of the method, a series RLC circuit expressed by a second-order differential equation was analyzed. Unlike traditional numerical methods, IRPSM assigns missing initial conditions as symbolic parameters and optimizes the solution coefficients by setting the derivatives of the residual function to zero at the t=0 point. Within the scope of the study, the dynamic response of the circuit was modeled with a 22nd-order power series, and the unknown initial parameter beta was optimized using the boundary condition. The obtained results were compared with analytical solution data; it was observed that the error rates remained below 0.70 %, particularly in regions where the transient regime is intensive.
