8. Uluslararası Antalya Bilimsel Araştırmalar ve Yenilikçi Çalışmalar Kongresi, Antalya, Turkey, 25 - 27 January 2025, pp.1, (Summary Text)
This study aims to
evaluate the current situation in this field and shed light on future research
by bringing together the findings of academic studies that address visual arts
education and technology integration from different perspectives. This systematic
literature review study aims to understand the trends, gaps and recommendations
in the field by analysing existing scientific studies in line with certain
themes. The sample of the study consists of 18 research articles published in
the last 10 years (between 2015-2024) and included in SSCI, SCI, ACHI, ESCI.
The research
analyses how innovative technologies such as augmented reality, virtual
reality, hologram technology, digital curation tools and mobile devices are
used in educational processes and the effects of this use on student
achievement, motivation, creativity and teacher competencies. The findings
reveal that the integration of technology into visual arts education
facilitates students' understanding of abstract concepts and improves their critical
thinking and creativity skills. However, technical infrastructure deficiencies,
differences in teachers' level of competence and pedagogical challenges are
among the factors limiting the full effective use of technology. The study
emphasises that in order to strengthen the role of technology in education,
teachers should be supported with professional development programmes and
technology infrastructure should be improved.
