Özet

Creative Turkey explores the creative economy potential of Turkey by assessing Turkish handicrafts, one of Turkey's rich untapped potentials, to grow regional prosperity and strengthen technology, talent, tolerance, and territory attributes within the creative economy. By the data retrieved from the study conducted by "Directorate General of Lifelong Learning" in 2012, the general aspect of Turkish handicrafts is summarized. Because Turkish traditional handicrafts were created considering needs and natural assets, the data are classified according to the raw materials used that offer a variety throughout Turkey by 26 regions (Level 2). Turkish handicrafts creativity entails recognition of agriculture, manufacturing, service, agriculture-manufacturing, manufacturing-service, and service-agriculture creativity niches in handicrafts creativity to use the full capacity of Turkey. By handicrafts niches, creativity talent, technology, tolerance, and technology metrics are identified to assess comprehensively. Metrics data has been retrieved from the various Turkish institutes' related statistics. Through 4Ts analysis, Turkish handicrafts creativity potentials of Level 2 regions by its niches are illustrated. Creative Turkey provides a better understanding of regions strengths and illustrates the regions unique capacities to improve their overall position for building creative economy and driving growth across Turkey.
