In today's businesses, raw material
and material costs constitute the majority of the operating costs in almost
every sector. The purchasing department plays a very important role in reducing
the high costs incurred. One of the most important issues for the purchasing
department is the selection of the supplier from which the raw materials,
materials or services necessary for the operation of the business will be
supplied. Supplier selection has become an important part of supply chain
management, which has gained great importance recently. Supplier selection is a
decision problem formed by the combination of many criteria. The supplier to be
selected is compared with other suppliers and the decision-making process is
started. There are many criteria that are compared in this process. In order to
solve these problems, multi-criteria decision making methods are also used in
supplier selection. In this study, the supplier selection problem of an
enterprise operating in the aerospace and defense sector has been examined.
"Fuzzy TOPSIS Method", which is one of the multi-criteria decision
making methods, is a common method used in supplier selection processes. In
this study, the "Fuzzy TOPSIS Method" was used in the supplier
selection process. It was carried out in line with making the most appropriate
selection by evaluating the suppliers with the supplier selection criteria.
