Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) are defined as organizations that are outside of official institutions and operate independently of them, work through lobbying, persuasion and actions in line with political, social, cultural, legal and environmental objectives, receive their members and employees voluntarily, are non-profit and earn their income from donations or membership payments. Along with the concept of “good governance”, one of the concepts brought by neoliberal policies, their activities in many areas have increased in recent years as another stakeholder participating in decision-making mechanisms outside the state and private sector. In the field of environment and climate, CSOs carry out actions such as awareness-raising, mobilization, policy-making and advocacy. While international organizations have a great impact on the development of climate policies in our country, CSOs also play mportant roles with the actions and campaigns they organize. For these reasons, we wanted to include CSO representatives working n the field of climate in this issue, where we discuss concepts and examples in the fight against the climate crisis. In this section, which s a written forum, we aimed to reveal the role of NGOs in combating the climate crisis through the answers given to our questions by representatives from the Climate Action Network Europe (CAN Europe), the Climate Justice Coalition and the Green Thought Association.
